Here’s Something

  • My “Pet Peeve” series is being passed around quite a bit. For that, I thank you. I’ll try and write more that don’t get randomly deleted by the internetz.
  • Thingz are alwayz coolerz when you uze a “z”
  • Example: Dragon Ball
  • Dragon Ball Z
  • See? Cooler.
  • I was reading my friend Drew’s blog, and he pointed out an interesting truth that goes along with the Z thing: Bands with “X” in their name are never going to be bad. Examples: King’s X, Symphony X, XxDeathStarxX, XX, xoxo… I could go on.
  • I haven’t been enamored by “hip” music in a very long while. Like, since The National released High Violet. Maybe I’m not cool any more. Or maybe music is just sucking these days.
  • Ihavebeen into EDM. That’s Electronic Dance Music. There’s some sweet stuff coming out of that space.
  • I’m getting old. I realized recently how many little kids I used to know are going into college… And I was like… Woah.
  • I bought this guitar a few years ago. Like two. It is a very pretty thinline Telecaster. It has been sitting in my things for a long time. It needed a lot of work: the pickups, the bridge, the neck, blah blah blah… So last night I got “almost done” with fixing it. This morning I ordered the last two pieces it needs to be done. A short wait for delivery and a few screws later, I will have a second guitar. BAM!
  • I’ve gotten really good at soldering through this whole process.
  • De-soldering is still not so good for me.
  • I started going to Starbucks. I still don’t drink coffee. I get a small chai tea latte. And then the barista says, “Atallchai latte?” And I say, “Yes, asmallchai tea latte.” I don’t think they appreciate that.
  • You will never catch me ordering drinks using the word “grande” or “vente.” No sir.
  • I wake up with mysterious cuts on my hands a lot. I think maybe I sleep-bare-knuckle-box with my wall.
  • I’ve been rereading The Hobbit. What a great book.
  • Yesterday Andy Stanley started tweeting about spanking. I think he may have been hacked by Mark Driscoll.
  • Lastly, I cracked and got an ebow last night. It was on sale… Those things are still cool, right?
